ICE-RETENTION TIPS FROM THE MANUFACTURER

To keep your food fresh and safe, surround it with ice to maintain a temperature below 40 degrees Fahrenheit as recommended by the FDA. For best results, always top off with a layer of ice. Remember, coolers maintain the average temperature inside, so using plenty of ice will result in colder temperatures and longer-lasting ice. Keeping the lid closed is crucial to trap the cold air in and prevent hot air from getting in. Pre-chilling your food and drinks before placing them in the cooler will also help prolong their freshness. Additionally, storing your cooler in the shade instead of direct sunlight or extreme heat will prevent it from heating up too quickly.

When layering your cooler, start from the bottom with food followed by ice, and repeat. Always make sure that ice is the top layer to maintain optimal cooling. It's also recommended to freeze or pre-chill all food items before placing them in the cooler to enhance ice retention.
